Dr Matthew Banks is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Director of Endoscopy at University College London Hospital NHS Trust. He trained at University College London School of Medicine and was a Specialist Registrar in Gastroenterology, North Thames. He completed a Clinical Fellowship in Therapeutic Endoscopy and Endoscopic Ultrasound at Concord Hospital, Sydney, Australia and a Fellowship in Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (minimally invasive endoscopic surgery) at the National Cancer Centre, Tokyo, Japan. He is now one of a select few National Endoscopy trainers with exemplary performance standards, particularly in colonoscopy.
