Bob Chatterjee
Mr Bob Chatterjee: Consultant Spinal Surgeon, London
Mr Bob Chatterjee is a fellowship-trained Consultant Spinal Surgeon in London offering expert assessment and treatment for traumatic and degenerative spinal conditions, including low back pain, neck pain, arm pain, sciatica, slipped disc, spinal stenosis, sports spinal injuries and spinal fractures. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, he always tries to help his patients without surgery where possible. When surgery is required, he offers the most up-to-date spinal surgery techniques such as minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery, vertebroplasty and non-fusion surgery for low back disorders.

About Bob Chatterjee

Mr Bob Chatterjee qualified from Guy's and St Thomas's Hospital, London, in 1995 and undertook his initial training in spinal surgery in Oxford. Awarded a Culyer Foundation research grant at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, he then completed a research thesis on bone regeneration, for which he gained a distinction.

On completion of his Orthopaedic Specialist training in London, Mr Chatterjee trained in spinal deformity and degenerative surgery at the Norfolk & Norwich Hospitals and in neurosurgery at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge as part of a joint Neurosurgical and Orthopaedic Spinal Fellowship awarded by the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Mr Chatterjee was appointed as a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at the Royal Free Hospitals NHS Trust where he is spinal lead. Actively involved in teaching, he is a tutor for minimally invasive spinal surgery, a UK tutor for AO Spine and trains junior spinal surgeons. He also acts as a spinal advisor to the NHS and is President Elect for the orthopaedic section of the Royal Society of Medicine.

Harley Street Spine

Based at Highgate Private Hospital and a number of leading independent hospitals in London, Mr Chatterjee provides private assessment and treatment for a wide range of conditions affecting the spine. His philosophy is that finding the cause of spinal problems and explaining them succinctly to patients is the foundation of good treatment. In a team-based approach, he helps patients not only to understand their back, but also to be aware of all the treatment options available, both non-surgical and surgical.

Where surgery is indicated, Mr Chatterjee uses the latest minimally invasive techniques, lessening discomfort and speeding recovery.
