The London Breast Clinic at 108 Medical Chambers has a reputation of using the latest technology to provide the best in private healthcare. First with digital mammography in Harley Street and one of the first anywhere in the UK, the Clinic has now gone beyond digital with the installation of a Hologic Selenia Dimensions digital mammography system capable of tomosynthesis, otherwise known as 3D mammography.

This advanced technology allows the Radiologist to view the breast as a series of layers to enhance diagnostic confidence. And post examination surgery will benefit too. According to Consultant Breast Surgeon Mr Simon Marsh, “The improvement in clarity and resolution of the new images is remarkable. The ability to diagnose and biopsy small breast cancers will be significant enhanced."

To further deliver the best in breast care, the Clinic has also acquired a Hologic AEC vacuum assisted biopsy system which will be guided by tomosynthesis for optimum accuracy. Dr Teh comments, "This state of the art equipment will help improve the accuracy in screening and symptomatic review of ladies, particularly those with dense breasts. It is also the first in the UK to use tomosynthesis to guide vacuum biopsies which greatly assists the speed and accuracy of breast biopsies."

Managing Director of 108 Medical Chambers Hamish Millar, sums up, “I am delighted that we have been able to invest in the latest technology for our patients, without a price increase, and also to support our first class clinical team in their work."
